Our Year 10 students recently had the opportunity to experience the world of work, arriving at school dressed in business attire and ready to engage in a series of enriching sessions. These sessions were incredibly valuable for our students’ personal and professional development. They not only learned about potential career pathways but also acquired essential skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. We are confident that these experiences will significantly contribute to their future success.

The sessions focused on several key areas to prepare students for the working world, including apprenticeships, CV writing, recognising personal strengths, and interview skills. Each workshop was designed to equip students with practical knowledge and skills, helping them to understand the various opportunities available to them and how to effectively pursue their goals.

To further enhance their understanding of the workplace, students will take part in ‘Take Your Child to Work Day’ from Thursday 18th July to Friday 19th July. This initiative allows students to shadow their parents or guardians at work, providing them with first-hand experience of different careers and work environments.

By participating in these sessions and activities, Year 10 have gained insights and experiences that will serve them well as they continue their educational journey and eventually enter the workforce. We are proud of their engagement and enthusiasm and look forward to seeing how these new skills will benefit them in the future.
