Woodcote Sports Day Brings Excitement and Records
Our annual Sports Day, held on Friday 12th July 2024, was an exhilarating event filled with fun, competition, and impressive athletic achievements. For the first time, all year groups from 7 to 10 participated in a variety of activities in the morning before the traditional track events. Students showcased their versatility and team spirit through an obstacle course, rounders, and dodgeball, setting the tone for an action-packed day!
As the morning activities wrapped up, the excitement shifted to the track, where students competed in various events, pushing themselves to their limits. The day was marked by outstanding performances and several new school records. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, students made colourful banners to support their houses, cheering on their teammates with enthusiasm.
Anna in Year 7 stunned everyone with her incredible speed and endurance, setting new personal bests and school records in both the 200m and 1500m races. Her remarkable achievements were a highlight of the day, earning her well-deserved applause and admiration from her peers and teachers.
Libby from Year 10 also made headlines with her outstanding performance in the high jump, breaking the previous school record and setting a new personal best. Her dedication and hard work paid off, inspiring fellow students to aim high in their pursuits.
The success of our Sports Day would not have been possible without the support and enthusiasm of all participants, staff, and spectators. A special thank you to the PE Department for their meticulous planning and organisation, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable event for everyone involved.
Congratulations to all our students who participated and made the day a memorable one!
