On Friday 20th June 2025, we said goodbye to our Year 13s.  For some of them, it was the end of seven years here at Woodcote High School and their time in compulsory education and it was with mixed feelings many of them said goodbye.  For others, those who joined us in Year 12, it was the end of their short time with us and we wanted to mark that occasion.

Leaving school is a huge deal and it marks the steps in to adulthood and responsibility, so we wanted to acknowledge this for our lovely Year 13s. So, our leavers’ do was a final celebratory assembly with awards from staff and then student awards, followed by food: pizza, cookies (made by one of our Year 13s, an aspiring baker) and ice lollies.  The Year 13 band, accompanied by Mr Harrow, played a few songs, their final number, the rabble-rousing The Killers ‘Mr Brightside’ and as they played, many of the Year 13s were listening, dancing and others on the 60foot inflatable obstacle course we had hired for the day for them to use.

It was a lovely occasion, where students and staff mixed and shared memories and students shared their future aspirations.  Thank you to all those who attended, it was a fabulous leavers’ do and we will miss you all.
