On Friday 12th December, Year 11 gathered for a key milestone in their GCSE journey as we hosted the PPE (Pre-Public Examinations) Results Assembly, led by Mr Deale and Ms Marrill. The assembly focused not only on outcomes, but on mindset, reflection, and the importance of looking ahead with purpose and determination.

At the heart of the message was a reminder that “your journey is your story”. Students were encouraged not to look back with regret or dwell on what they felt they could have done differently. Instead, the assembly highlighted that PPE1 results are a snapshot in time and a valuable checkpoint designed to support learning and growth, rather than define success.

A strong emphasis was placed on self-reflection. Students were asked to honestly consider how they prepared for PPE1, the effort they invested, and the strategies that worked well or needed improvement. This reflective approach was presented as a vital skill, helping students take ownership of their progress and make informed decisions about their next steps.

This assembly also encouraged students to focus on what comes next: PPE2 and, ultimately, the summer GCSE examinations. During their afternoon session, Form Tutors reinforced the idea that improvement is built through consistent effort, resilience, and a willingness to learn from experience. Students were reminded that their story is still being written, and that the next chapter will play a crucial role in shaping their success.
