This week Year 12 students have been off timetable to experience a mix of different activities to do with their next steps post 18 and compulsory full time education. With a mix of speakers and a trip, students have had a variety of opportunities, including:

  • A trip to the University of Surrey Stag Hill Campus
  • A visit from St Mary’s University, Twickenham
  • A talk from Josh from Plan My Gap Year about making the most of travelling and choosing volunteer work abroad
  • A talk about a career in humanitarian and environmental photography
  • A career talk from a practicing Pharmacist
  • A career talk from a former Marketing professional
  • A career talk from a practicing Talking Therapies professional
  • A talk from a former police officer about roles in the police
  • A Radiographer gave a talk about the role and how to get into the profession
  • Students all signed up to Unifrog, a new platform to the school that will allow students to keep track of their UCAS applications and other careers related information.
  • First Aid – all students were given a refresher course on First Aid, including resuscitation and use of a defibrillator.
  • A representative from Caterham Cars came in to talk to the students about their role.

A wide variety of activities were on offer for the students which show the many varied routes there are for them post-18.
