October sees us celebrate Black History Month, and we are proud to be celebrating this in school. This year’s theme is ‘’Reclaiming Narratives’’ and marks a significant shift towards recognising and correcting the narratives of Black history and culture. This theme underscores a commitment to correcting historical inaccuracies and showcasing the untold success stories and the full complexities of Black heritage. In school, Mr Rahim has produced a wonderful display highlighting important historical figures and shared with students the stories of local heroes in his assemblies last week, whilst also discussing the need for Black History Month to shine a light on bias and privilege in history.
