Our Year 10 students had the opportunity to participate in a CSI Blood Pool Workshop this term.

They were presented with a real-life crime scene and examined the entire case including forensic tests and analysis. During the CSI workshop, the students had a chance to:

  • Interpret what is found at a crime scene
  • Test a sample of blood found at the scene and work it its blood group
  • Conduct DNA sequencing using electrophoresis
  • Interpret other physical evidence found at crime scenes
  • Use critical thinking skills to consider how an expert forensic scientist would present this information at court
