Last week, Fashion model, Jean Campbell visited us at Woodcote to talk to our Year 9, 10 and 11 students about: “Empathy: The Superpower That Unites Us”. Jean explained her experience of growing up, having to deal with a chronic health condition and invasive surgery as a child. She also explained how she became a model and what it is like to work in the industry and how it feels to be judged based on your appearance. Jean gave our students the opportunity to reflect on their culture and the importance of showing empathy. Many of our students posed insightful questions to Jean about managing her condition and career; opportunities to travel, the famous people she has worked with and met. At the end of the talk, Jean commended everyone for their questions and level of engagement.
