Woodcote High School has once again been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted inspectors. The inspector’s report, which follows a visit to the school in January 2024, recognises that the school’s “values of ‘excellence, responsibility and aspiration’ are at the heart of the school’s work,” and that, “Leaders have high aspirations for the pupils.”
The inspectors also identified that, “The school is inclusive and ensures that pupils treat each other with respect,” and that “Pupils feel safe in school”. “Teachers have strong subject knowledge,” and, “The curriculum is organised well and sequenced in a systematic and logical way that enables pupils to be confident in their learning.” Additionally, the report states that the curriculum, “is ambitious and designed to meet the needs of all pupils.”
The range of both academic and vocational options on offer in the Sixth Form, and the “broad range of opportunities” were praised and it was clear that students, “enjoy taking part in a wide range of clubs,” and a careers programme that, “raises pupils’ aspirations and interests in a range of careers.”
Woodcote has an Enhanced Learning Provision on-site, for students with a range of physical disabilities. The Ofsted inspectors recognised that, “Pupils with physical disabilities are fully integrated into the school, and they are positive about their learning and support,” as well as noting that, “The school has ensured that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are identified carefully, and their needs are supported effectively. They achieve well.”
Andy Crofts, Executive Principal, says, “We’re really pleased that Ofsted has recognised the significant strengths of Woodcote High School, in particular our robust academic offer and wide range of extra curricular opportunities catering to our students’ many interests. We are a caring school with unashamedly high expectations of all our students, whatever their starting point. The staff at the school and across The Collegiate Trust will continue to work tirelessly so that Woodcote can become truly outstanding in the years to come.”
