I’ve wanted to do a cycling challenge for some time now, and losing my grandmother before Christmas last year was the motivation I needed.
She had suffered from Alzheimer’s and I decided to do a bike ride to raise money for this good cause.
After 2 hours of cycling and a lot of effort, I finally finished my laps around Kenley Aerodrome.
I managed to complete 8 laps which is the equivalent of 16 miles (which was much further than I thought I would get) but fortunately, I was supported by family and that gave me that little extra push!
Amazingly, I’ve managed to raise over £600 including Gift Aid, for Alzheimer’s Society! Thanks to all the kind and generous donations I received, which far exceeded my original £100 target.
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be, and funding ground-breaking research.
